I think a guide is worthwhile because there are a lot of things that you wouldn’t learn without them. I was on my own and there were no others on the tour so I was able to ask lots of questions.
We were there fairly early so I don’t think we actually jumped a queue. Like many attractions, if you get there early it’s usually less crowded.
There are options to visit old Delhi market lanes afterwards as it in the same neighbourhood.
The driver dropped me back to the hotel making the whole experience fairly painless.
I literally booked a couple of hours before the tour and they were very accomodating in making it happen as I didn’t have a lot of time.

He was willing to answer all my questions about India and also respected the silence when I wanted to rest. He was funny and knowledgeable and very kind. We ate two meals together and he gave me tips about what to order. He was also a very safe driver and the car was comfortable. If I come back to India for more time, I will definitely use Naresh as my driver again!

Afterwards he took us to meet desencents of the original workmen and they showed us how the patterns in the marble were made . We really recommend the whole experience it was wonderful 🙂
